I would pay big bucks to see Tom the Peruvian cat shred Shitboy into a million pieces. I think yours will be about the only flashback the past eight years that I will be able to view without vomiting. What a nightmare it as been. I wish I would just wake up and realize it was only a dream. I hope we survive the next 23 days...
It has indeed been a bloody nightmare. I am SO sick of Bush and Dick, their torturing, killing, stealing, and overall disregard for our Constitution. I am also sick of spineless Democrats (Pelosi and Reid in particular) who REFUSE to hold these thugs accountable for their crimes against humanity. For Cheney and Bush to retire with full taxpayer-funded benefits having robbed us blind is just INSULTING as well as criminal.
It's interesting that they're gung ho to punish Blagojevich and impeach him immediately and he hasn't even been indicted, YET they're allowing the neobastards to walk away with impunity. Assholes! It just sucks beyond belief. Blagojevich might be a mercenary idiot but he hasn't killed hundreds of thousands of people last time I looked. Now that we have a Democrat in the White House we're overdue to think about ridding ourselves of all the DINOs in the next election cycle. I've had it with them. They might as well BE Republicans....they sure act like them. As Dave925 says, they're just the Friendly Face of Fascism. It's time for a truly progressive government instead of this corporatist bunch of assholes.
It's not so much the next 20 days I'm worried about...it's the next couple of years since the GOP has absolutely destroyed our economy and left us with NO money to help the people whose lives they've ruined. We'll need to pull together and help each other out as Dick/Bush managed to drown our government in the bathtub...their plan since St. Teflon the asshole.
RAISE TAXES ON THE WEALTHY! They've bled us dry for long enough. They need to pay their fair share...for a change.

Where to begin....I should just email you...but what the hell, might as well share it here on my blog where nobody will see it. Hahahaha.
Herewith, a brief recap (brief for ME that is...heh.)
I didn't get either of the two jobs I thought I had a good shot at. Quite an ego smashing (apart from the much needed money)....seven months invested in a lost cause. My SO had back surgery in January and recovery has been painfully slow, it's SO hard doing my best to "help" as somebody I care about is suffering....and then my brother died at age 52 of AIDS in Feb. It's been a tough couple of months for my mother since January...President Obama notwithstanding. (At least NOW there's hope for America!) My other (younger) brother has had to move in with my mother...his wife left him...long, long, unpleasant tale. Upshot, he got the shaft.
I seriously don't like to inflict my personal woes on others as there are so many more people with worse problems than mine. FAR worse! I hate self-pity in myself...don't mind it in others but find it most unsavory and a sign of weakness in myself. It's just so unbecoming and non-productive. However, I feel I've wallowed enough for now and appreciate your concern. I KNOW, silence from me is just so bloody unusual...emerging though, I feel as if I'm on the mend emotionally and on the upswing. Resiliency in human beings is just so amazing. Soon you won't be able to shut me up. Tee hee! My verbosity is slowly returning. As you can imagine, there's so MUCH more to tell. I usually become incommunicado when overwhelmed. Another bad trait. One of many. ;)
Son number one graduated from UCSB with his BA in history...VERY proud of him. Both sons are "in love" so they're pretty happy despite the recent family traumas. I sure have been grateful to them both for their kindness lately....musta done "something right"...raised two fine Liberal compassionate Democrats! Yay!

It sounds like one nightmare after another. So sorry to hear about your brother; I can imagine that you and your mother are devastated. And then the back surgery and the brother divorce, not to mention the job situation...You are a tough cookie to be able to deal with this stuff without losing your mind.
I am glad you have good news on the progeny front. At least there's that.
Things for me are fine, plugging along, family good, work OK. I'm very worried about the future of our nation, particularly with the economy, and the likely end of cheap oil, etc., but at least we have some Dems in charge and at least the slim possibility of rational governance.
Hope to see you at LA sooner than soon. Everyone clamors.
