Bugman Partially Squashed

The buzz all over the internet today is that the corrupt Republican Abramoff/DeLay fraud and lobbying scandal may have reached Bugboy's trapdoor. Get the RAID™ he's still moving. He says he won't seek re-election. "I feel that I could have won the race. I just felt like I didn't want to risk the seat and that I can do more on the outside of the House than I can on the inside right now. I want to continue to fight for the conservative cause. I want to continue to work for a Republican majority," DeLay told Time. Can Buggery Lobbyists Inc. be far behind? Golly, what could have precipitated this sudden announcement from ThugLay? Could it be that another of his co-thieves has made a deal with the Feds? Could Tom be that scared? One can hope he's trembling in his little exterminator's boots. Never one to miss out on another sleazy move, he's changing his residency from Texas to Virginia to enable the appointment of another Texan Republican to run for his seat. There isn't one ethical bone in his revolting body.
He said he will change his legal residence to his condominium in Alexandria, Va., from his modest two-story home on a golf course here in the 22nd District of Texas. "I become ineligible to run for election if I'm not a resident of the state of Texas," he said, turning election law to his purposes for perhaps on last time. State Republican officials will then be able to name another Republican candidate to face Democrat Nick Lampson, a former House members who lost his seat in a redistricting engineered by DeLay.

Rudy Pleads GuiltyIn a largely overlooked element of the plea agreements, first Abramoff and now Tony Rudy both pleaded guilty to a bribery scheme that began in 1997 and ran through 2004, which suggests that the bribery of Members of Congress and their staffs began much earlier than has so far been publicly acknowledged.
Friday’s deal with Rudy — like the deals previously struck with Abramoff and Mike Scanlon, the former DeLay aide and Abramoff business partner — detailed a series of actions that occurred mostly in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Most of those details leaked out to reporters well before Rudy pleaded guilty
No, he hasn't held a press conference yet, nothing so straightforward for the devious DeLay...instead he has surreptitiously "announced" his plans to some of his more friendly news outlets to get the best spin possible. The flatteringly soft "exclusive" he gave Time was cotton candy.
Then Delay confirmed his decision to talk show host...not a journalist by any stretch of the imagination...Chris Matthews of MSNBC. He told his sympathetic friend Screamer before his official announcement, set to occur tomorrow, unless Tony Rudy somehow disappears or dies.
Matthews said that DeLay told him in an interview that “the polling on him in the 22nd District was going down,” as a result of his part in a campaign contribution controversy.
A Texas grand jury indicted DeLay on Sept. 28 on the charge of criminally conspiring with two associates to use illegal corporate contributions in Texas state elections in 2002, in a bid to aid the Republican Party shift the congressional map in Texas and solidify control of the House of Representatives for the GOP. He has denied wrongdoing.

“He (DeLay) expected to take a beating all summer on this,” Matthews said. “I guess he felt the beating was going to continue.”
Apparently afraid of the kinds of "beatings" he has inflicted on others both in and out of the cloakroom, Tommy is scurrying under a rock ahead of the Feds. In the meantime, he's still on the House Appropriations Committee with fellow crook Conrad Burns until the end of May. How much money can they appropriate in two months? He should be removed immediately but that won't happen since the Republicans, who are in charge, have no ethics and will defend DeLay even when he's behind bars claiming he was smeared and maligned by his political adversaries. It's time this nasty conniving bastard was put behind bars for his criminal activities both inside and outside government. He's a disgrace.
