Not In My Name!

This is not America! Our warmongering leadership from hell has rejected President Ahmadinejad's letter.(Full text, PDF) The greatest threat to world peace is George Bush. He and his "administration" are taking this country to war again, this time with Iran. He and Dick Cheney, along with their entire cabal belong in jail. The stupidity continues and there's seemingly nothing we can do about it. The Republicans hold all the power; they own the press and they are taking us headlong into an abyss for which we did not vote. I'm sick to death of these greedy unprincipled bastards pretending they speak for me. They don't. The people of the United States and the people of Iran do NOT want WAR! Hell, these assholes haven't gotten us out of Iraq yet and they're now thinking about nuking Iran. This is INSANITY.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad sent a letter to Bush who has been "briefed" on it but Condosleeza Rice rejected it as not concrete enough. Iran's Letter Not an Overture. It was not a diplomatic opening, she said. She dismissed it before it was even translated.
"This letter is not the place that one would find an opening to engage on the nuclear issue or anything of the sort," Rice said in an interview with The Associated Press. "It isn't addressing the issues that we're dealing with in a concrete way."That's not diplomacy, it's ignorant arrogance. Lieboy was told of the 18 page letter aboard Air Force one on his way to a Florida fundraiser. He can't read that many pages unless there are cute pictures. The White House said the letter didn't address "international concerns". UN Ambassador Bolton called it a "ploy" ...a "ploy" for what, Mr. Bolton, a ploy for PEACE? How dare he reject any overture from the Iranian government! At the United Nations, U.S. ambassador John Bolton said he had read the 18-page letter. "I think it is typical of Iran that when major decisions are about to be taken ... that they have tried to throw sand in the eyes of the proponents of the action. That's what this may be," Bolton said.and is pushing ahead with demands for sanctions against Iran. John Bolton doesn't represent the United States. He is a recess appointment who hasn't been confirmed by the Senate, yet he pounds the war drums for Bush and Cheney. Whatever happened to representation? Not one of these unreasonable responses to Ahmadinejad's letter is fair. They won't even listen. That's not the kind of leadership we need in Washington. These money grubbing assholes WANT war with Iran. Israel has fanned the flames but no critcism of Peres has surfaced anywhere in the U.S. press. It's not allowed.
Vice Premier Shimon Peres said
Monday that "The president of Iran should remember that Iran can also be wiped off the map."
"Teheran is making a mockery of the international community's efforts to solve the crisis surrounding Iran's nuclear program," Peres told Reuters, adding that "Iran presents a danger to the entire world, not just to us."
Right, like Iraq was such a danger to the entire world. Shut the hell up, Mr. Peres. This hawkish warmongering by the U.S. and Israel is going to take us solidly into WWIII. If they want to fight so badly perhaps they should go themselves. We'll even supply them with the armor they give to our troops. But leave us and the rest of the world out of it!
U.S. is unaware of Ahmadinejad's letter This is so ridiculous, the letter was already on the internet, translated and broadcast worldwide and this came in from our intelligence obsessed group of moronic cronies:The White House is unaware of any letter from Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attempting to ease mounting tensions with Tehran, U.S. national security adviser Stephen Hadley said on Monday."The international community has been clear as to what Iran needs to do," Hadley said on NBC's "Today" show. "It needs to return to the suspension of its enrichment activities in order to open the door for a diplomatic resolution of that issue." "I'm not aware of any such letter," Hadley said. What "international community" are they referring to here? Is it like the "coalition" supposedly fighting in Iraq. What about China and Russia...they sure seem international enough to qualify.

Entire Interview:Rice
QUESTION: Well, I wanted to start off by asking you about the letter from President Ahmadi-Nejad. I mean, you've said that Iran is the single greatest threat from a state that the United States and perhaps the world faces. If they're willing to talk to us, don't we risk something by not being willing to talk to them?
SECRETARY RICE: Well, let me address the letter first. Let me first say that we have looked at it. We've not done our own translation of it, which of course we will do and we'll look at in greater depth. But the first read of it, there is nothing in this letter that in any way addresses any of the issues really that are on the table in the international community -- the nuclear program -- in a straightforward way -- the terrorism issue. I think it would be best to say it's broadly philosophical in its character; it's 17 or 18 pages, I think. And it is most assuredly not a proposal. Let me be very clear about that. And so we'll do further examination of it, but there is nothing in here that would suggest that we're on any different course than we were before we got the letter.
QUESTION: When you say it's philosophical, is it a rant? Is it hostile or is it friendly?
SECRETARY RICE: Well, I'm loathe to say because we haven't done a proper translation of it; and speaking a foreign language myself, I think we want to do a translation of it. But it's not concrete in any way and it does not engage the issues. It's broadly philosophical, a little bit historical and it isn't something that you can sit and say, oh, well, here's what they're trying to tell us (inaudible).
QUESTION: Is it an opening, though?
SECRETARY RICE: I don't see it that way.
...
(rest at link)
Well, "Secretary" Rice, I do and you don't represent the people of the United States of America. We don't want war. How bloody dare you! NOT IN MY NAME.
