Bush Tears and Iraq Photo Ops
Dead Certain by Robert Draper, some inside views of The Decider.
"I do tears."
"I've got God's shoulder to cry on. And I cry a lot. I do a lot of crying in this job. I'll bet I've shed more tears than you can count, as president. I'll shed some tomorrow."
Bush Considers Troop Strength in Iraq
"The main factor that will affect my decision on troop levels is, can we succeed? What does it take to succeed?" Bush said, chopping the table with the side of his hand. "Because failure would lead to harm to America, is what I believe. As a matter of fact, I'm certain of it."
Not true. Per Draper's book Bush is "playing" for time to keep the troops in Iraq until he's long gone. Playing. So he lied again to our troops. Mutiny would have been a swell idea. The soldiers outnumber the secret service...but they do have some serious firepower of their own. They surely know they are sacrificing for a liar's war.
Keith Olbermann did a Special Comment on this latest ruse from the thugs. We "might" bring troops home but only if they're "successful"
"I'm playing for October-November," Mr. Bush said to Draper. That, evidently, is the time during which, he thinks he can sell us the real plan, which is "to get us in a position where the presidential candidates will be comfortable about sustaining a presence."
The "Compassionate Christian Conservative" (he's none of those things) heard from some troops who weren't overjoyed to be on fourth and fifth deployments; Bush said, "I'm wasn't alarmed by what I heard" and moved on. Of course he's not alarmed, it's not happening to HIM. He's safe. He's always out of harm's way.
Bush Visits and Thanks Troops in Anbar Province
Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq
Eight whole hours on a fortified military airbase...what a hero.
"We're kicking ass," Bush told Mark Vaile on the tarmac after the Deputy Prime Minister inquired politely of the President's stopover in Iraq en route to Sydney.
Good Pet, said all the right lies to Congress.
Petraeus expresses confidence.
Just like he was ordered to by his Commander Guy.
Soldiers in Iraq Back Petraeus Testimony??? They DO? Well, good for them. I sure hope they don't rue the day they believed a word out of Bush's lying lips. The supposed "withdrawal" of some troops is based on post-surge numbers. Nice fuzzy math. Well, all's well, then. HOO-AH!
Bush Meets with Prime Minister Maliki and Iraqi Leaders
Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq
Yup, things are going so well, just kicking ass all over Iraq.
United States President George W Bush had met Sheik Abu Risha during a visit to Iraq last week. Ramadi police officer Ahmed Mahmoud al-Alwani says the Sheikh's car was totally destroyed by the explosion; Abu Risha was killed and two of his bodyguards were seriously wounded.
Update: Per Greg Palast, the Sheik is a fake.
Here's what you need to know that NPR won't tell you.
1. Sheik Abu Risha wasn't a sheik.
2. He wasn't killed by Al Qaeda.
3. The new alliance with former insurgents in Anbar is as fake as the sheik -- and a murderous deceit.
Notably, Rowley and his camera caught up with Abu Risha on his way to a "business trip" to Dubai, money-laundering capital of the Middle East.
There are some real sheiks in Anbar, such as Ali Hathem of the dominant Dulaimi tribe, who told Rick that Abu Risha was a con man. Where was his tribe, this tribal leader? "The Americans like to create characters like Disney cartoon heroes." Then Ali Hathem added, "Abu Risha is no longer welcome" in Anbar.
On Thursday, Bush said Abu Risha was killed, "fighting Al Qaeda" -- and the White House issued a statement that the sheik was "killed by al Qaeda."
Palast doesn't mince words...rest at link.
And under the radar...Shitboy and Dick still have all those emergency powers they already granted themselves after 9/11...executive order.
Notice: Continuation of the National Emergency with Respect to Certain Terrorist Attacks
Speaking of Dubai....let's not forget that's where Dick has moved Halliburton HQ and his assets...to the UAE where his best buddies do all their business. Dick is, after all, aligned with the Saudis against the U.S. His loyalties do not lie with the United States Government, under which he supposedly "serves" but with his own financial interests. Saudi Arabia, the Bush family and Cheney are all the absolute best of friends...and Bin Laden is a Saudi who got what he wanted via 9/11...all U.S. bases out of Saudi Arabia. Mission accomplished.
