Praise the Lord and Pass the Lies

McCain's great at excusing his false statements as "the truth as (he) sees it" at the time. You don't get to INVENT the truth unless you're a Republican in which case you can just make stuff up and flip flop as needed. Snide Sarah is just another GOP liar who puts her own pork barrel needs ahead of the rest of the country's; it's the truth as she sees it, how conveeenient.
God's Plan
Palin's oh-so-amusing statement last week that she'd said, "Thanks but no thanks for that bridge to nowhere but if we want a bridge we'll build it ourselves" is a lie. She was FOR the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it.
The Alaska governor campaigned in 2006 on a build-the-bridge platform
She TOOK our taxpayer money for the bridge, she did not reject it as she claims. She diverted some of it and gave a hugely popular $2,000 tax dividend to each and every Alaskan, a wonderful gift for larger families. Of COURSE she's popular, with ALASKANS! Alaskans got a windfall from the rest of the United States, US. Her "fought big oil" claim is true insofar as Alaska increased taxes on oil companies' windfall profits.
Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska’s Legislature last year approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry — a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared. …She signed a bill on August 25 that uses revenues generated from the state’s natural resources to provide a one-time special payment of $1,200 to every Alaskan eligible for the 2008 Permanent Fund Dividend.
Nice. Alaska is using OUR taxpayer funds on pork barrel earmarks and gifts for themselves while our own infrastructures suffer. An additional one-time $1,200 per Alaskan = $3,200 for every man, woman and child for 2008. Ironically, her new boss, (after "god") is against windfall taxes on oil companies, the very thing that has made her so popular.
McCain Missed Opportunity To End Big Oil Tax Breaks to Invest in Clean Energy. In 2007, McCain was the only senator who failed to vote on a motion to invoke cloture (thus limiting debate) on the Energy Independence and Security Act. This vote was about whether to close $13 billion in tax breaks for major oil and gas companies to invest in new clean energy technologies such as wind and solar, and efficiency. Sixty votes were required for passage. The motion was rejected 59-40. [CQ.com; HR 6, Vote #425, 12/13/07]

A flip flop, of course. "I will oppose any tax breaks or good deals for the gas and oil industry also." -John McCain at a town hall meeting in Rindge, NH, 11/18/07
It's a fact: For every dollar we Alaskans pay in at-the-pump gas taxes, we get $6.60 back, thanks to you generous, unwitting donors....
Alaska is so rich that residents not only pay no state income tax, but we get individual yearly checks as our share of the oil wealth. Why should your gas taxes, which are supposed to fill potholes in your local interstate or repair your decaying bridges, end up so far from home?
Earmarks totaling $721 million.
Transportation Equity Act:
$223 million to build a bridge nearly as long as the Golden Gate and higher than the Brooklyn Bridge, to connect the town of Ketchikan (population 8,900) to the city airport on Gravina Island (population 50).
$200 million for another "bridge to nowhere," which would lead from Anchorage, the state's largest city, to a rural port that has one tenant and a handful of homes. Total cost for the project has been estimated at upwards of $1.5 billion. Not even the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce wants it.
$15 million to begin work on a 68-mile, $284 million access road to Juneau, the state capital, even though a majority of area residents have said they would prefer improving service in the existing ferry system instead.

Sarah the Waffle Queen. Yes, she vetoed a few things. She used her veto power selectively because she could:
She vetoed $268 million in state capital projects this year, but her cuts came out of an unusually swollen capital budget.

Congress still sent Alaska the money. All of it, she used it for HER priorities, her "right" as governor. Claim: Palin cut her budget and has a surplus. True. She had "a swollen budget" with lots of room for cuts, she has more (of our money) to spend yet cut funding to help troubled kids and halfway homes for "swollen" teenagers. She bared her very mean theocratic GOP side: She cut funding this Spring for teenage mothers via her line-item veto.
Palin reduced funding for Covenant House Alaska by more than 20 percent, cutting funds from $5 million to $3.9 million. Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage mothers.

She cut funding for teenage mothers.
That's about the time her daughter Bristol who is NOT off limits to ME was "somehow" getting pregnant. (Bristol's off limits the way Chelsea Clinton was off limits. "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father." –John McCain at a 1998 GOP fund-raiser in Washington.) Where was Mrs. Palin while her daughter was busily not practicing abstinence? Oh, that's right, in her feverish religion-induced rapturous ignorance she doesn't use birth control, even into her 40s and predictably produced a Down Syndrome child. That's fine, for her. She chose her own course. I would have chosen birth control first and had that failed I would have chosen abortion. Sarah would not have allowed me the right to make my own choice. She's totally anti-choice in all instances and would support jailing women/girls who choose to abort. She should mind her own fucking business.
This appears to be a Palin Family Values Tradition: Remain ignorant, deny the need for birth control, fornicate, get pregnant, shotgun wedding or elopement. I have absolutely no qualms about pointing out the hypocrisy of those who would legislate our rights away from us even though they don't have to adhere to those same laws.
Sarah and First Dude's first child Track Palin was conceived out of wedlock.
1. Sarah Palin's first son, Track Palin, was born on April 20, 1989.
2. Sarah Palin was married on August 29, 1988. She eloped.
3. 38 weeks is the typical human pregnancy.
4. 38 weeks before her son's birthday, April 20, 1989, is July 28, 1988 - i.e., that would be the hypothetical day of conception.
5. If this data is correct, that would mean that Sarah Palin eloped four weeks after her son's conception.
6. Sarah Palin's son could still be legitimate if he was born four weeks premature, AND if he was conceived on the night his parents eloped.

John at americablog isn't quite on track if the more common 40 week human gestation period is used. I'm going with conception 6 weeks before the elopement via:Pregnancy calculator

This makes me sick....
"People see her as the symbol of purity in an atmosphere of corruption," says Anchorage pollster Marc Hellenthal. "She is almost Saint Sarah."

God's Will

The much touted Pit Bull (from Hell) speech was written by former Bush speechwriter Matthew Scully before he knew who McCain's Veep choice would be. It was a purely thematic attack of Democrats, filled with rhetoric and no substance. Scully only had a few days to insert Palin's name into the blank spots, rehearse her and put some filler disguised as a biography here and there. McCain's #1 litmus test for his VP choice was to be anti-choice, this speech was carefully crafted to avoid revealing the VP candidate's true zealotry while appearing "compassionate" at the same time...much as he did with Bush. Palin, much more of a cultist than even Dubya the saved believes in "god's will be done" as interpreted by her church. That limits her "thinking" to rigidity and intolerance. The big boys know a perfect tool when they see one. Dominionists. We only have two months to "enlighten" the electorate.
Scully started working on the vice-presidential speech a week ago, before he or anyone else knew who the nominee would be, and it's not hard to pick out the parts that would have been the same regardless of who delivered it. Scully unspooled two centrist themes via Palin that have been key to the McCain message: the idea that the Republican nominee puts service to country ahead of career and the notion that he's the true representative of Middle America. Both themes implicitly push Obama and Biden to the left, and Scully made them explicit with lines accusing the Democrats of élitism and talking down to working-class voters.

Once Palin was chosen, Scully tailored the speech to the Alaska governor, highlighting her biography and using her PTA background and local political experience (contrasted so memorably with Obama's work as a community organizer) to bolster his two themes. Where much media attention in the wake of her surprise naming has focused on Palin's views on cultural issues like abortion, the speech carefully steered away from ideological touchstones. Palin was shown as an average mainstream American looking to bring change to Washington, further bolstering McCain's overarching message of reforming the wasteful Federal Government.

Palin is supposedly "a babe" and "hot" per some in the "media". She's no babe, she just looks like one next to Crusty McSame. Cindy McCain actually IS a good looking woman. Cindy could afford to really bring fashion to the White House, but Michelle Obama is a knockout so if that's the shallow criteria for elections, Obama will win. Not only is Michelle gorgeous she's got brains too...a true babe.

Jeebus Palin

The Dobson/Perkins/700 Clubbers/Falwellians/Moonies etc. are elated. Rapturous bliss has arrived via their dream Uterine Highway. Two of their own are on the top GOP ticket. Hallelujah. Bring 'em on. Two hypocrites to tell the rest of the country "Do as I say, not as I do", Pass the ignorance. They want it all; all control over our bodies, minds and all of our actions. They want Planned Parenthood destroyed, abortion outlawed, women imprisoned, doctors imprisoned, the practice of medicine itself limited to procedures allowed by their religion. Randall Terry might as well be president. He has as much foreign policy experience as Sarah the Impaling Snake. It's not about her experience but her rapture beliefs. It's time to tax any church that crosses the line between church and state. That line will be erased completely by a McSame and Impalin residency. The Supreme Court will shift all the way to the right and civil liberty will be a thing of the past. It may already be lost. I'm sick of any and all lying arguments to the contrary.

We're just scratching the shallow surface here...Palin's fundamentalist religion is the thing...the very scary thing that shapes all of her actions. Why she was selected by the GOP to be McCain's VP is all the more frightening in view of his age and health. For the first time I'm concerned and wish him well. Here's to his absolute best health, just in case. He's almost a human being compared to Sarah Palin. If this is the way the theocrats are slipping a very very right wing fundy they can control into our White House...well, it wouldn't be the first time...then again, she'll need a Veep and Jeb isn't busy. And Jeb has "a record"....

Ooooh, she's such a maverick. The Alaska governor's plane she didn't really sell on ebay (another lie?) wasn't needed... Homey touches, like driving herself to work, while under investigation....and shooting her own lunch at the same time? Superhunterwoman!

Palin is trotting around giving the exact same speech she gave at the Republican Convention to rabidly frothing audiences while hiding from the "press"...and certainly from any REAL people. She looked to me like she could handle any interviewer allowed near her. Fox or Disney/ABC would be the PR Stations of choice...a perfect fit since the Bush White House is writing all their material anyway. Sarah brought along the snide sarcasm and fundamentalist frightening stuff all by herself. The McCain campaign will do its best to keep too much information out of the public eye where Palin is concerned, she's been "gettin' saved here" as a Third Wave nutjob and member of Wasilla Assembly of God, scary people who would impose their twisted views upon the rest of us. Palin's Churches and the Third Wave
Sarah Palin has refused to acknowledge belonging to any specific denomination or any particular religious stream. However, it is now well documented that she spent her youth in an Assembly of God church and has regularly attended another AoG church, as well as two Independent Churches. At least three of four of these churches have close ties to prominent organizations and leaders in the Third Wave movement, also known as the New Apostolic Reformation.

The REAL Jeopardy answer: Lipstick.
Question: What’s the difference between the Taliban and Palin?

The GOP Platform:
"USA! USA! USA!"
"Drill, baby, drill!"
"Culture of Life!" (In utero ONLY!)

There's so much more.... tip of the iceberg. I'm just getting tuned in and warmed up on the "I WAS for Hillary but now I'm voting for McCain" meme I hear on Washington Journal. Total insanity "I am a black woman/black man/white woman BUT....now that Hillary isn't in the race I'm voting for John McCain" Unh huh, right. You'd rather have two insane wingers than Obama and Biden in the White House? It makes ZERO sense and speaks to something quite sinister going on in Rove-land. There's something very bad going on here...much more than meets the eye.

Update: The "unbiased" (Ahahahahaaaaaaaaaa!) Charlie Gibson of the Mouse Ears Network has scored the first "interview" with Impalin' Palin. A very safe GOP choice. He's sure to toss fluffballs at the shrew. The Bush campaign, whoops, it's the McCain campaign being RUN by Bush people, isn't going to let Sarah get into any trouble by having spontaneous questions of substance asked out of the blue. This will be carefully scripted, as are all Bush/Cheney events.
ABC News' Gibson lands first Sarah Palin interview

....oh, there WILL be more...much more.
