Bush restates confidence in US economy

Bush met with the US treasury secretary, Henry Paulson, and the White House economist Edward Lazear, and said his administration was "on top of the situation".
He said US financial institutions were strong despite the "challenging times", and insisted the economy would weather the storm.

"We have taken strong, decisive action," Bush said. "We will continue to monitor the situation. In the long run the economy is going to be fine. Right now we are dealing with a difficult situation."

Any American who continues to believe Bushco's lies deserves what they get. The rest of us don't. Republicans who aren't in the top financial brackets continue to vote in their own worst interests. It's baffling. They're either fools or liars. Or both.



All the Bush Cheney team is doing now is stalling, stonewalling, tying up loose ends, hiding the money they've stolen from our treasury in Dubai, Paraguay, elsewhere and their idiot front boy can get on with riding his bike, fishing, chopping down shrubs, swimming in his pool, drinking. They can all eat drink and be merry, without having to deal with the masses.
