the father of McCain's wife, James Hensley, was convicted by a federal jury in U.S. District Court of Arizona in March 1948 on seven counts of filing false liquor records. Hensley also was charged with conspiracy to hide from federal authorities the names of persons involved in a liquor industry racket with two companies he managed, United Sales Company in Phoenix and United Distributors in Tucson.
The umbrella company, United Liquor, at that time held a monopoly in Arizona, organized and managed by Kemper Marley, who was accused of mob ties by a reporter who was murdered in 1977.
Silverman and Doherty report that by 1955, Hensley had launched a Budweiser distributorship in Phoenix, "a franchise reportedly bestowed upon him by Marley, who was never indicted in the 1948 liquor-law-violation case – or a subsequent one – despite his controlling role in the liquor distribution businesses." .... Arizona in the 1970s drew a "who's who" of organized crime figures seeking to retire in the sun, including Rochester, N.Y., mob boss Joe Bonanno, who spent his last days along the Lake Havasu shores and in a quiet home in Tucson. ...in 1953, Hensley was again charged with falsifying records at Marley's liquor firms.
Hensley was found not guilty after being defended by William Rehnquist, the future chief justice of the Supreme Court, Nowicki and Muller wrote. In 2000, Hensley, then 80 years old, still controlled the Budweiser distributorship valued as a $200 million-a-year business, with annual sales of more than 20 million cases of beer.

Thank you, thank you, taking a bow to me. One blogs for oneself alone...or one could be heartily disappointed. Yet, I appreciate my three readers, hahaha. For me it's a need to vent my spleen and I amuse myselves. I make me laugh and that's the therapy I need to survive this cold hard planet. And it does get cold indeed. Last September/October/November I hit an emotionally low spot that ended with a lowest of the low in February. Mortality. Fear. Loss. Betrayal. Lies. Pain. I took a painful hit to get validation. I knew, I blocked, I put some blinders on. The truth is messy but lies are the death knoll of friendships. It is something up with which I shall not put. Not anymore. It's been a bumpy ride personally and George Bush isn't making my life any easier. He's made it financially impossible for Boomers to have much flexibility. We're trapped between our Echo Boomers and our Greatest Generation family members. We're being needed and squeezed to death. It's real.
Women in particular receive the brunt of the pressure as trained to respond to the needs of others, "we've come a long way baby" was an ad campaign...we've gone backwards. Now women are asked to do more, still get paid less, and aren't respected for raising children...valueless without a paycheck...belittled. Boomer women are a force to be reckoned with if we could ever get our collective shit together. Just too busy taking care of others' needs.
Health care issues are about to explode even more as the 1946 to 1955 Vietnam Boomers age. Get ready for some radical actions from Boomers who've protested before and know the awesome power of the government but will risk prison in the name of justice for all. That's called true bravery.

John McCain's temper is well documented. He's called opponents and colleagues "shitheads," "assholes" and in at least one case "a fucking jerk."
But a new book on the presumptive Republican nominee will air perhaps the most shocking angry exchange to date.
The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter, which will arrive in bookstores next month, reports an angry exchange between McCain and his wife that happened in full view of aides and reporters during a 1992 campaign stop. An advance copy of the book was obtained by RAW STORY. Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.
Perhaps one can imagine he was replying to Cindy having said something equally vile: "Makeup won't hide your ugly pasty mug you fat short disgusting prick." or "For christ's sake John, a bit more deodorant might be in order you smelly egotistical self-centered fucking asshole, plus your feet stink!" But no, she made a "wife-like" quip about his thinning hair. She knows what looks good. She dresses beautifully. Whatever else she is, she takes very good care of herself. She is always immaculate, even while stealing recipes. Therefore, calling her a cunt was totally uncalled for. Any woman worth her salt would have stopped dead in her tracks and taken him to task for it. Perhaps belted him across the thinning hair with her purse...or large makeup case. Cunt, indeed!

I like the word cunt in certain contexts, it has its place (in private) and can be quite sexy and erotic when used properly. Or should be. But in "other" public situations it's a misogynistic slur of the highest (lowest?) order. McCain is a misogynistic pig who MEANT to insult his wife in public. Why she puts up with that rotten stout little runt is beyond me. He's bad tempered, has no sense of humor, he's like a time bomb, tightly wound. He's not attractive in personality or appearance. McCunt's first wife was the winner when he divorced her and a month later married Cindy the beer heiress.

He allowed crooks and thugs to lie on his show and present their insane opinions as fact, unchallenged. And for that he is now a sainted martyr who was the absolute best person EVER. In the meantime, we're killing people in Iraq and elsewhere, our rotten little bastard of a king is in Yurp where they hate his lousy guts and who the hell knows what Dick's up to while this excessive Press-Fest filled with copious accolades and emotionalism from his "colleagues" in the useless press. Utterly irresponsible...IF we had a free press.

I had the vile experience of listening to Peter Schweizer, conservative "author" on C-SPAN's Washington Journal this morning and almost lost my coffee. What a fucking asshole lying smug sack of shit. I hope nobody buys his "...as I say in my book" piece of garbage. A mouthpiece of TPs and LIES. Rotten way to start the day; he says that Conservatives are the true "givers" in society and far more generous than Liberals who are selfish, greedy and think only of themselves. He repeated it several times. Riiiiight. Thankfully there were two sane callers, one of whom said, "You're ridiculous", I applauded.

BTW Randi Rhodes has fallen back into the bad habit of rudely interrupting callers since she moved to NOVA, and it's not nice. I find myself saying Shut UP, Randi and let him TALK!
